My husband, Jacob, and I just celebrated our marriage, July 20, 2013. We are thrilled to be married and are enjoying renovating our starter home.
I often spend time with my extended family, enjoying meals and board games, among other activities. If Saturday nights are free, I am probably enjoying my families company in a very crowded house. I love camping and traveling to new places. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to almost every state in the country and even to Europe once. I hope to travel to more counties in the future as well.
Since I can remember art has been a major passion in my life. I decided to become an educator so that I could be a part of something bigger than myself. It is my long-term goal that I can successfully inspire students to learn and think creatively. I desire to help students become significant twenty-first century leaders within our ever changing global community.
In 2006 I graduated tenth in my class in high school and went on to receive my Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree with an Art Education Certificate from Kendall College of Art and Design on December 17, 2012.
During my years at Kendall I have actively participated within the Art Education Student Association and held the Presidential position in 2010-2011. While in college, I worked part-time in customer service and was awarded three Raving Fans Award’s by the public I served. As a member of the Michigan Art Education Association I have volunteered at three different conferences and even presented a class to my colleagues. My student teaching internship, working as a Title One Paraprofessional, and guest teaching experiences have reassured that I have chosen the correct career path. I’m excited to share my passion and knowledge of art with all of the Walden Green Montessori students this year!
